Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1772-1775.

Mahogany tall-case clock. The hood has a molded pagoda pediment with two ball finials on fluted pilasters with ogee capitals, a molded arch above the door, free-standing stop-fluted columns with gilt capitals, bases and stop-fluting at the front corners, turned quarter columns at the rear corners, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with cove and ogee molding at the top and a case door with a molded edge and an astragal top. Base with cove and ovolo molding at the top, a base panel with a molded edge, ogee moldings at the bottom, and a shaped skirt. Engraved dial with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, engraved c-scrolls in the spandrels, and the inscription "Benjn Willard Roxbury" in the lunette and surrounded by engraved foliate ornament. Inside the chapter ring there is an engraved seconds dial, surrounding the inscription "No 139." There is a calendar aperture flanked by c-scrolls and two engraved birds. Eight day movement.
